Financial Aid

For Undergraduate Students

Financial aid comes in many forms, including state and federal financial aid, loans, grants, and work-study programs. You may be eligible for consideration for financial aid if you are seeking an ISU degree—and are a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen.

Note:  Non-degree undergraduate students completing courses or certificate programs are not eligible.

How To Apply

Applying for most federal and state aid starts with completing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). The Federal School code for Indiana State University is 001807. For instructions (and on-line application) go to www.fafsa.gov

Deadlines

The University recommends filing the FAFSA as soon as possible after January 1 (and before March 1) to be considered for all possible funding sources. Applications received after March 10 will be processed; however the types of state assistance available will be limited.

Checking Your Status

Once admitted to the University, you can check your financial aid status by logging on to the MyISU Portal. You should check frequently to view any needed documents and updates to your financial aid files.

Important:  Once aid is approved, you cannot receive aid until you are admitted to the University and registered for courses. To continue to receive aid, you must meet specific requirements. For details, visit satisfactory academic progress.
