promoting achievement for students with sensory loss (PASS)

general description

The purpose of Promoting Achievement for Students with Sensory Loss (PASS) is to provide statewide support, technical assistance and professional development opportunities for educators that will improve instructional quality, promote academic achievement, and foster successful post-secondary transition outcomes for students with sensory loss.

This website was developed especially for teachers, educational interpreters, paraprofessionals, related service personnel, families, and administrators who serve students who have sensory loss (including blind or low vision; deaf or hard of hearing; or deafblind). Our goal is to connect you with materials and people to support you in your important work. We will provide updates on inservice training and distance education opportunities, listings of resources and other information on topics of interest to you.

PASS is funded by the Indiana Department of Education, Division of Student Learning, Office of Differentiated Learners and is located at the Blumberg Center for Interdisciplinary Studies in Special Education at Indiana State University.

On this site, PASS activities are separated into the following two categories. . .

Blind, Low Vision, or Deafblind: Find out more about inservice training or distance education opportunities, a list serve, and other resources for educators to improve educational outcomes for students who are blind or have low vision.

Deaf, Hard of Hearing, or Deafblind: Find out more about inservice training or distance education opportunities, a list serve, and other resources for educators to improve educational outcomes for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
