Center for Business Support and Economic Innovation
Welcome to the Center for Business Support and Economic Innovation!
Mission: The Center for Business Support and Economic Innovation (CBSEI) exists to engage with business to provide university commercialization services and experiential learning opportunities.
Vision: The CBSEI is a catalyst for innovation and entrepreneurship, leveraging university engagement and technology transfer, to create an environment of business support which results in job creation, profitability and economic diversity. The Center for Business Support and Economic Innovation (CBSEI) is the ISU business engagement office. As Indiana State’s official liaison for business support services and economic development, CBSEI works with faculty and staff from all areas of the university to identify business needs and coordinate University solutions.
The Center also provides relevant opportunities for students and graduate students to get involved in paid internships and projects with innovative companies and get hands-on experience. By working with local businesses, CBSEI and ISU play a role in diversifying the local economy, creating jobs, fostering innovation, and retaining the best talent in the state.
CBSEI also represents ISU in the Terre Haute Innovation Alliance, a partnership between ISU, Rose Hulman, and the City of Terre Haute, created to enhance economic development and provide businesses the resources needed to succeed. The Innovation Alliance is currently home to three businesses: DesAcc Inc., InfraWare Inc., and Handshake LLC. These companies have benefited from the Innovation Alliance and applications are currently being accepted from entrepreneurial companies interested in the program.
