The Digital Drop Box is a way for you and your students to exchange files. This should not be confused with how students will submit assignments, this is simply a location for you and students to share files
To access the Digital Drop Box you need to log on to Blackboard, enter your course and click on Control Panel in the lower left corner of the screen.

Before working on the Digital Drop Box we should confirm that this is available for the students. To do this locate the Course Options area in the control panel screen and click on the Manage Tools link.

In the Manage tools screen, click on Enable Blackboard Tools.

In the Enable Blackboard Tools screen you may need to scroll down to find the Dropbox. Make sure the enable checkbox is checked.

Returning to the Control Panel screen, locate Course Tools and click on the Digital Drop Box link.

There are two ways of adding files to the Digital Drop Box. The first is to click on the Add File icon.

First give the file a descriptive name and click on the Browse button.

The choose file dialog box will open. Locate the file you want to upload, select the file and click open.

Clicking on submit finishes the process of putting your file in the Drop Box.

A dialog box opens when you add a file this way. Basically it is a warning, informing you that the file has been uploaded or added to the dropbox but not sent to anyone.

Once the dialog box is closed , you will have a confirmation that the file has been successfully added to the Drop Box.

If you wan to upload and send a file at the same time (versus just uploading) click on the Send File icon.

In the first step you need to select the recipients of the file.

If you have already uploaded the file, you can use the drop down menu to select the file to send to the drop box.

If this a new file you need to upload and send, give the file a unique name and click Browse to find the file and upload (same procedures as above).

Clicking on submit will upload the file and send it at the same time.

The next screen confirms that the action has been successfully completed.
