Document Finishing
The Center for Instruction, Research, and Technology group assists University departments with document finishing such as lamination, dry-mounting, and trimming. Posters and other printed work can be dry-mounted to board to make them more rigid. Flat printed pieces can also be laminated with a thin plastic film for durability and to create a water resistant surface. There are restrictions on various types of materials and sizes that can be both laminated and mounted. IMDS is not responsible for the damage to any provided artwork or materials.
- Dry Mounting
- - Dry mounting to 3/16” white foamboard is available as large as 42” x 92”
- - Dry mounting to 3/16” black foamboard is available as large as 40” x 60”
- - Dry mounting to white mat board is available as large as 32” x 40”
- - Double-sided dry mounting is available for all board materials
- - Dry mounting posters is only encouraged for those materials being displayed on an easel or tabletop.
- Lamination
- - Glossy lamination is available up to 25” on the width by 72” on the length. Small articles or materials less than 4-5” are discouraged.
- - Lamination is only encouraged for those posters being reused annually or that will be displayed for more than one month.
- - Lamination of mounted materials is not water-proof, but only helps with surface moisture. Not intended for long-term outdoor use.
- Outdoor Signage (subject to charge for all University departments)
- - Outdoor corrugated yard signs are available in 18” x 24” size (portrait or landscape)
- - These can be printed single or double-sided
- - Outdoor signage pricing also includes metal H stakes
- Additional Materials (all subject to charge - please contact the IMDS office for pricing)
- - Cardboard easels are available for tabletop displays (available in the following heights: 3”,5”,7”,9”,12”,15”)
- - Velcro strips and dots
All Non-Academic Affairs departments will be assessed a charge for the above production materials.
All University departments, including Academic Affairs, will be assessed a charge for any additional
materials, such as Velcro and easels, and outdoor corrugated yard signage.
