General Information
This software cannot be installed over the wireless network
SPSS for Windows, Version 14.0, was loaded in Spring 2006.
- It can be run on Windows 98, 2000, Me, XP and NT 4.0.
- Data files created in earlier versions are compatible and can be read in directly.
- Output files are not interchangeable between Versions 12 and 13.

To add the SPSS for Windows, Version 14.0, program to your workstation, use the following instructions.
Licensing Requirement: To access SPSS 14.0, you must have KeyServer installed on your computer. all the Help Desk - 2910 - for information.
Liscensing Requirement
To access MINITAB, you must have KeyServer installed on your computer. Call the Help Desk - 2910 - for information.
System Requirements
Windows 98, 2000, Me, XP or Windows NT 4.0
Memory
- Requirement: Recommend 128 MB
- How to check your machine's memory
- Click Start > Settings > Control Panel > System
Processor
- Pentium-class processor
- How to check your machine's processor type
- Right-Click My Computer
- Click Properties
Monitor
- SVGA (800 x 600 resolution or higher)
Internet Explorer Version 5.0 or higher
One version of Acrobat Reader is recommended.
If you are running Windows 2000/XP then you must have Administrator rights
Client Installation Instructions
Add MINITAB 15.0 to your Workstation
- Exit all windows programs you have running.
- Click Start > Run
- In the box, type the following command:
\\emprodv\emprod\stats\AutoInstallers\SPSS14.0.2.exe - Click OK.
- The Installation Wizard will start and complete SPSS 14.0 installation on your computer.
- You may need to restart your computer at this time.
Accessing SPSS for Windows, Version 14.0
Access SPSS by clicking Start > Programs > SPSS for Windows > SPSS 14.0 for Windows
For convenience, you may want to "manually" create the shortcut.
Additional Components You May Need
You will need "Adobe Acrobat Reader" to read the on-line syntax guides.
- Your computer may already have this software in the programs directory. Verify by clicking Start > Programs
- You may download it free from the Adobe web site at www.adobe.com. Follow their instructions.
You will need ODBC to read data from databases and spreadsheets.
- Most computers already have this software. Verify by using "Find" (Click Start > Find) to search for ODBC in the C:\Windows\System Directory. You should see a series of ODBC files.
- If you need to install ODBC, call the Help Desk at ext. 2910 for information.
