Students can complete the Public Administration Certificate in two semesters, or in one semester and two summer sessions.
Credit earned in either certificate program may be applied toward the master of public administration (M.P.A.), offered through the Public Administration Program within the Department of Political Science.

Admission Requirements
We will consider for admission any student with a bachelor degree in any field and an undergraduate
grade point average of at least 2.75 from an accredited institution of higher learning, documented by
the student's transcripts. We are especially looking for, and encourage applications from, students with
work backgrounds in public and/or nonprofit administration or management. However, public/nonprofit
experience is not required for admission to either of the certificate programs.
In addition to an undergraduate transcript, applicants should submit a curriculum vitae and a one- to two-page, double-spaced statement of purpose. The statement of purpose should explain why the applicant would like to join our program, and how the certificate fits into his/her professional plans. The curriculum vitae submitted during the application process should outline that experience.
Applicants are not required to submit standardized tests such as the GRE (Graduate Record Examination). However, international students whose first language is not English may be required to demonstrate competence in that language.
