The Geographic Information Systems and Remote Sensing Laboratories

The Department of Earth and Environmental Systems houses two geospatial analysis computer laboratories, both of which provide students access to the latest versions of ArcGIS, Erdas Imagine, and ENVI/IDL, along with the standard suite of productivity software.

The Geographic Information Systems teaching and research lab has 14 Dell Optiplex GX270 workstations, a CalComp Drawingboard 2 Digitizing Table, and color and black-and-white printing as well. The Remote Sensing teaching and research lab has 11 Dell Optiplex GX280 workstations and color and black-and-white printing capabilities, focusing on providing advanced undergraduate and graduate students the space and software access to complete research projects. The department also maintains a large-format full-color plotter, a HP DesignJet 5000 series 46" model.
