Honors Program

The University Honors Program is composed of classes and experiences designed to enrich and maximize students' education—and provide the best possible preparation for professional development and advanced study.

Overview

Students in the Honors Program participate in a core of classes taught by faculty selected for their expertise and devotion to academic excellence. The Honors Program director and faculty mentors work closely with each student to design a program of study that enhances the student's academic major and provides the best possible preparation for professional development and advanced study.

Benefits include dynamic classrooms with peers seeking the same level of depth in their education; opportunities to participate in undergraduate research, internships, scholarly travel, and field trips; special assistance with scholarships and job opportunities; priority registration; and honors housing.

Eligibility

Currently enrolled ISU undergraduate students are eligible if they have earned a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.3 in ISU classes.

Scholarships Opportunities

The University offers Honors Program scholarships. In additional, many national and international organizations offer membership and prestigious scholarships to high achieving students.
