Focus Indiana is a program designed to help Indiana State University graduates find full-time employment in Indiana. Scholarships are available through the Career Center to support students completing internships and job shadow experiences in Indiana. Focus Indiana is supported by a grant from the Lilly Endowment.
The Rex E. Breeden Internship Scholarship also provides internship scholarships
to students completing an internship in Indiana. This scholarship is supported through a generous gift from ISU alumnus Rex E. Breeden.
Focus Indiana Program Goals
- Increase the number of ISU students completing internships in Indiana.
- Helping students in making a smooth transition from school life to work life.
- Support economic and social development by stimulating internships in underserved areas, particularly west-central Indiana
- Actively engage ISU alumni in the development of experiential learning opportunities, including internships.
- Develop internships in entrepreneurial organizations and potential growth industries in the state and in mission driven organizations that are creatively meeting the human, social, and cultural needs of the state.
- Challenge academic units to identify and develop programs that contribute directly to students’ professional development, statewide economic development, and the creation of economic opportunities for ISU graduates.
