Carla Aguilar
Carla Aguilar is a doctoral candidate at Indiana University, Jacobs School of Music specializing in elementary music education. She has her Master's in Music Education from Indiana University and her Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Ball State University. Her research interests include educational policy of the arts, integrated curriculum, the impact of standardized testing on music education, and advocacy for music education. Her dissertation research is on the decision making process for educational policy influencing the arts at the federal level. She has presented her research at University of North Texas, Northwestern University CIC, Indiana University CIC, The Mountain Lake Colloquium, and the May Day Colloquium.
Ms. Aguilar is also a member of the Indiana Army National Guard’s 38th Division Band where she plays flute and piccolo.
