University police have made one arrest and are searching for a second suspect in connection with an incident in which two students were threatened with a gun in a campus parking lot.
One of the victims told police the incident occurred shortly before 2 p.m. in Lot 9 on Chestnut Street between Fourth and Fifth streets. The victim reported the incident to an officer who was on bicycle patrol and pointed out a silver Jeep in which two men fled. The bicycle officer chased the Jeep to a parking lot between Ohio and Walnut streets where the driver was arrested and a semi-automatic handgun was recovered.
Brandon McIntosh, an ISU student from Merrillville, faces preliminary charges of criminal recklessness and possession of a handgun without a permit. A second suspect, who is believed to be the man who actually pulled the gun, is described as an African-American male about 30 years old, standing six-feet-two to six-feet-three inches tall, with short hair and glasses. He was wearing a blue shirt and jeans when last seen.
