Indiana State to host informational open houses about MBA program in Plainfield

July 19, 2011

Indiana State University will hold several informational open houses in Plainfield for people to learn about the new professional MBA program offering classes there starting this fall.

Three open houses are scheduled in the Metropolis Meeting Room from 6 to 8 p.m. on Aug. 3, Aug. 4 and Aug. 8, along with an additional open house at Westside Garden Plaza from to 6 to 8 p.m. on Aug. 9. Current MBA students and faculty members from ISU's Scott College of Business will attend the open houses, and be available to answer questions about the new program, which is geared for working professionals and will begin its inaugural class in the fall.

"The open houses are a great opportunity to find more out about this unique new program that allows working professionals to balance work, family and school as they pursue their advanced degree," said Jeff Harper, professor and director of graduate and executive programs in the Scott College.

Classes will meet once a week for 10-week terms, with three terms in a year. The program, which is tailored to professionals with at least five years of business experience, will take two years for students to complete. Additional interactions and projects will be available for students to access on the Internet.

The programming is the same offerings as the MBA program on the ISU campus. The Scott College holds AACSB - International accreditation, which is earned by less than five percent of the world's business schools.

ISU's MBA application process has been streamlined, Harper said, and applications will be accepted during the open houses. Additional information can be found on the program website: http://indstate.edu/business/proMBA/.
