Both a four-year traditional baccalaureate degree program with a track for licensed practical nurses (LPN-BS) and a track for registered nurses (RN-BS) and a master's degree program with concentrations in nursing education, nursing administration, and family nurse practitioner are offered at Indiana State University.
Contracts are held with over 200 health and related agencies in Terre Haute, surrounding areas, and nationwide for clinical laboratory experiences. Contracts are arranged with agencies in other regions as needed for distance student clinical experiences. An innovative continuing nursing education program accredited by the American Nurses’ Association has served our alumni and other practicing nurses since 1970.

educational,
practice, and research opportunities for students
and faculty.
Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society, Lambda Sigma Chapter provides numerous opportunities for professional development for both students and graduates.
The purpose of the nursing curricula is to prepare an educated person and contributing citizen to function as a competent, caring practitioner of nursing for diverse client populations. This purpose is implemented through the undergraduate and graduate programs.
Graduates who are not already licensed Registered Nurses are eligible to apply to take the National Council Licensing Examination for Registered Nurses for entry into practice. The programs leading to baccalaureate and master’s degrees are accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission, Inc. The Baccalaureate Degree Nursing Program is also accredited by the Indiana State Board of Nursing.
