Faculty Computer Replacement/Refresh
OIT has begun the process of replacing (“refreshing”) faculty computers that are now four years old. In order to complete this process and meet as many of the established goals as possible, we will be meeting with deans and chairs to schedule a timeframe for each department to be refreshed. As one determinant, we will start with those departments where many or a majority of faculty will be available over the summer. By the end of April, we plan to have an initial schedule of departments that we will refresh over the summer; then, we’ll proceed to schedule refreshes in the fall.
Look for more information soon from OIT, your dean, or your chair about the schedule for your department’s refresh process. If you are experiencing significant problems or failures in the meantime, please put in a help desk ticket at http://supportcenteronline.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=4751
or contact x2910 to schedule a support consultant to troubleshoot the problem and identify whether refresh of your computer is necessary sooner than your department’s planned refresh date.

Blackboard Tile Available in MyISU Cloud
Beginning March 18, 2013, a Blackboard tile appeared in MyISU Cloud. This allows single sign-on for all users. It is located in the Workspace area of the MyISU Cloud (click “Workspace” located under the ISU logo.) All faculty, staff and students who use MyISU Cloud will see the new tile. The current Blackboard login will remain unchanged for users who prefer to access Blackboard directly at https://blackboard.indstate.edu.
Users of the Blackboard tile will no longer see the Blackboard login page.
• A link to the tutorials located on the login page is available in most classes under the menu button “ISU Tutorials”. These tutorials are also
available at http://challenger.indstate.edu/blackboard/.
• Announcements regarding system maintenance will begin appearing in the “My Announcements” area of the My Institution tab on Blackboard.
• The browser check feature is available on the MyISU Cloud login page under the “System Check” link.
The LockDown Browser is not affected by this change, and will continue to open on the Blackboard login page.

OIT Self-Help Portal
The Office of Information Technology is pleased to announce new self-help tools now available through the MyISU Portal (http://myisu.indstate.edu). You will for the first time have direct access to the OIT Knowledge Base. An upgraded ticket-submission form and the ability to track your submitted tickets are also available.
The self-help tools are best experienced by clicking the Help Desk Self-Service badge in the MyISU Portal. This badge is available on the Workspace tab.
All systems normal.
