The Indiana State University would like to welcome you to the Sycamore family. You are entering a new and exciting partnership with Indiana State, and the years your student spends at the university will likely be some of the most formative years of his or her adult life.
As parents of a college student, you will share your student’s journey and experience. As with all transitions in life, there will be moments of great excitement, some periods of needing to refocus direction, and encounters with challenges along the way. This is all perfectly normal, and ISU is here to assist you in being a partner in your student’s successful education.
At Indiana State University, we also understand that you will have questions and concerns, and we're here to help ease your mind. From personal safety information to financial resources to study habits support, we have what you need to support your student in many ways during these important years of growth and enrichment.
We also have ways in which we can help you surprise your student with a gift from ISU Dining Services during the school year. We also want you to visit campus throughout your student’s time at ISU. Parents should attend Parent Orientation, and we hope you’ll join us for Family Day each fall. Homecoming, Spring Week, and Commencement – the ultimate family celebration – are also great times to visit with your student and celebrate their progress.
Below are links to many more helpful resources for supporting your student’s successful completion of college and earning a degree from ISU. All parents of undergraduate students who are under the age of 21 also receive ParentLink three times a year which provides updates on programs and services which may be of interest to you or your student.
The Parent Advisor may also be contacted at (812) 237-3783 or email paula.meyer@indstate.edu throughout the year.
