ISU will cohost Eunice K Shriver Indianapolis Day of Service along with Special Olympics Indiana and the City of Indianapolis' Department of Parks and Recreation on April 26, 2014.
ISU students, faculty, and staff will join alumni and Special Olympics Indiana athletes for a beatification and grounds maintenance project in Garfield Park – a venue that Special Olympics athletes use for practices and competition.
Lunch and transportation from ISU's campus to Garfield Park will be provided. Volunteers may either ride the bus from ISU or meet at the event. The bus will leave at 8am and return by 5pm. Pre-registration is required – click here to register.
NEW THIS YEAR! We are collecting canned goods to support the food pantries at Indianapolis Parks and Recreation facilities. Please bring non-perishable food items to the Center for Community Engagement (Tirey Hall 136) by April 24 or bring donations with you to the event on April 26.
7:40 AM – If you are riding the bus, please meet us at the corner of 6th and Cherry Streets
8:00 AM – Bus departs
9:30 AM – Registration at the Corporate Shelter of Garfield Park begins. (see map)
10:00 AM – Morning Work Session
Noon – Lunch (provided)
12:30 PM Afternoon Work Session
3:00 PM Work Session Ends and Bus Departs for ISU
5:00 PM Bus Arrives at ISU
