WHERE are classes held?
Most fitness classes are held in Room B93 in the HHS Building, also known as "the Arena". This is one of the dance rooms, in the south hall of the building. The women's locker rooms are just down the hall from this room, and across from the Athletic Equipment Check-Out room. (When classes overlap, classes may be held in B92, the dance room next door to B93).
Water Walking and Water Aerobics are held in the Arena Pool, in the HHS (Health & Human Services) Building. You can access the pool from the men's and women's locker rooms. (Tricky design, don't ya think? Remember the old rule about having to take a shower before entering the pool? This is their attempt to make sure you do!)

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
Body Blast Fast-paced weight and Pilates-based exercises designed for total body toning.
Cardio Kickboxing An intense class with great cardio; a mixture of kickboxing, aerobics, and conditioning. You will keep your heart rate up for a good 20-30 minutes with high and low intensity exercises as well as active recovery. Included is a great core workout which consists of your abdominals, obliques, and lower back. This is a fun but challenging class. You may even improve your flexibility. Anyone can participate in this class no matter what fitness level, but expect a hard and high-impact workout!
Power Cardio Circuit The class will combine muscle strengthening and cardiovascular fitness in a circuit format. Core exercises and stretching will be included for a total body workout. Participants are encouraged to use various pieces of equipment such as: bands, steps, and free weights and may work at their own pace to modify accordingly. NEW!! Stretch & Tone This class is designed to strengthen and tone upper and lower muscle groups during a controlled, slower paced workout design. Depending on the intended intensity of the workout, participants can add light weights and use fitness bands. Balancing activities are included to activate leg and core muscles. A large component of the class will be conducted on mats and on the ground. You will need to bring shoes as well as water or other liquids. Please bring a warmer sweater for the stretching and relaxation part and inform the instructor about any health conditions or other circumstances that might impact on your performance during the workout.
Step Aerobics This class is guaranteed to get your heart rate up and burn calories. Try one of our two step classes (offered by different instructors). Step to the beat at an intensity that works for you!
Water Aerobics Are you looking for an intense workout that is gentle on your joints and bones? Water aerobics combines large and small movements using the water as resistance. This class will provide an intense aerobic workout while strengthening muscles and increasing flexibility. All of this without getting your hair wet!
Water Walking Join your co-workers for a noon-time pick-me-up. It’s great to get your heart pumping while protecting your joints.
Yoga Noon-time class Increase flexibility, muscle endurance and relieve stress by taking part in this popular class. Bringing your own mat to class is recommended, as there are only a limited number of mats available.
