Incomplete/IP Grading Instructions


Note: Undergraduate courses must be complete within one year after semester of enrollment.
Please do not use the browser back button


Assigning Incomplete/In-Progress Grade via Final Grade Worksheet

  1. This is only available during Final Grade Processing.
  2. Login to MyISU portal.
  3. Click on the Faculty tab.
  4. Go to Faculty Quick Links.
  5. Click on Final Grades.
  6. Select Term from the drop down box and select Submit.
  7. Select desired class.
  8. Find student and then click on the IN/IP link.
  9. Assign Due Date (up to a year from now minus one day).
  10. Select a Default Grade from the drop down menu.
  11. Enter requirements.
  12. Click Submit, (IN/IP grades are saved once you click submit).
  13. Click on Final Grade Worksheet link to continue grading other students as needed.

Deleting Inadvertent Assignment of Incomplete/In-Progress Grade

  1. This is only available during Final Grade Processing.
  2. Login to MyISU portal.
  3. Click on the Faculty tab.
  4. Go to Faculty Quick Links.
  5. Click Incomplete/In Progress Grades link.
  6. Select the student.
  7. Click Delete? check box at bottom of form.
  8. Click Delete button.
  9. Confirm deletion; click Delete? check box, click Delete.
  10. Click Final Grade Worksheet to assign grade.

Assigning a Final Grade to Replace an Incomplete/In-Progress Grade

  1. Go to MyISU portal and login.
  2. Click on the Faculty tab.
  3. Click 'Incomplete/In-Progress Grades' link under the 'Faculty Quick Links' heading.
  4. Terms and courses with outstanding IN/IP grades will appear.
  5. Click on name of student for desired term and course.
  6. Select Final Posted Grade from drop down box.
  7. Click submit button once.
  8. To cancel without changing the grade click the Incomplete/In Progress Grades Listing link.
  9. Review grade and click Check to Confirm box if grade is correct and click Submit Grade button once.

Extending Due Date for Incomplete/In-Progress Grade

  1. Go to MyISU portal and login.
  2. Click on the Faculty tab.
  3. Click 'Incomplete/In-Progress Grades' link under the 'Faculty Quick Links' heading.
  4. Terms and courses with outstanding IN/IP grades will appear.
  5. Click on name of student for desired term and course.
  6. Enter new Due Date.
  7. Click submit button once.
  8. Your change will now display.
