The new, state-of-the-art College of Health and Human Services building helps Indiana State students secure in-demand careers within the healthcare profession. The $64 million state-funded capital project is an investment in the health, wellness, and social services workforce of Indiana. The facility includes a new addition that adds 70,000 square feet of space; biomechanics, health assessment, and coaching laboratories; a School of Nursing Learning Resource Center; classrooms, conference rooms, offices, and student common areas; department huddle spaces that foster faculty-student interaction; and a wellness garden. The CHHS building brings the various healthcare disciplines under one roof. This, combined with the building’s smart technology capabilities, aids in inter-professional teaching and learning.

Together, Indiana State University’s Business Engagement Center and Sycamore Innovation Lab form a one-stop shop for startups, small businesses, and nonprofits in need of development assistance. The available support includes: business planning, office and lab space, incubation services, educational workshops, and grant funding. The innovation lab also offers prototyping, graphic and web design, and videography services.

The Business Engagement Center and the Sycamore Innovation Lab represent a win-win for Indiana State. Besides providing an environment where campus and community entrepreneurs can generate ideas, experiment with prototypes, develop and share business models, and create new ventures; these facilities also serve as learning laboratories for the Indiana State students who act as consultants and advisors on real-world projects.
