Academic Programs Abroad

Australearn

For students interested in either Australia or New Zealand, the folks at Australearn are the experts. As an affiliate member institution, ISU students receive helpful extras including travel guides, and in addition, scholarships from Australearn are available.

Choose from 22 universities in Australia and 8 in New Zealand. Program details in the form of a complete booklet can be picked up in Stalker Hall 215.

In addition to study opportunities, Australearn also offers custom-designed internships.

What are the requirements?

Most universities have a minimum GPA of 2.5, some 2.75 and a few 3.0

How competitive is the program?

All qualified students can participate and most are placed at their first-choice institution.

How do I apply?

The application form is included in the booklet, and the study abroad coordinator assists in submitting the forms.

What is the deadline to submit an application?

The deadline for fall is April 15 and for spring is November 1, although several universities have set different dates .Consult the Australearn website at www.australearn.org

Keep in mind that “fall” in Australia/NZ begins in July and “spring” in February.

What about payment?

A bill will be sent from the Study Abroad Office for tuition and room and board (if this option is chosen). Generally a housing deposit needs to be submitted once an official acceptance is received.
