Each summer students in the Geography department have the opportunity to enroll in
Geog 415 - Field Geography of the United States. Geog 415 is open to Geography
undergraduates with 85 or more earned credit hours and all graduate students.

In the summer of 2006 Dr. Greg Bierly, the department's climatologist, lead a severe weather
and storm chasing class. The class spent one week on the road with a filming crew chasing
sever weather through the Midwest and the Plains.
