This major prepares individuals to teach children in elementary primary and elementary inetermediate school settings (in Indiana: grades K-5, depending on school settings). It is a teacher licensure program.
This major prepares individuals to teach children and adolescents with mild disabilities at any grade or school level: elementary, middle school, and high school. It is a teacher program that leads to licensing in Special Education- Mild Disabilities (K-12) and Elementary Education (K-5).
This major prepares individuals to work with individuals needing speech and/or hearing therapy. A master's degree is required to qualify for licensure which permits working in school/hospital settings.

Funding Opportunities
There are a number of student employment opportunities within the Bayh College of Education and other departments on campus. Graduate students may apply for graduate assistantships within the Bayh College of Education and other departments on campus. Most student jobs and graduate assistantships are usually posted on the Career Center website throughout the academic year. Admitted students may go to the student employment website to apply for available student jobs or graduate assistantships.
