Lavender Graduation

Lavender Graduation is an annual celebration intended to bring the entire LGBTQ+ community together to celebrate the success of our students. LGBTQ+ students AND allies can take part in Lavender Graduation. Students do not need to have been a member of Spectrum, a student organization, to participate and be recognized.

Transgender Day of Remembrance Candlelight Vigil March

Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR) is an annual observance that honors the memory of those whose lives were lost in acts of anti-transgender violence. Day of Remembrance publicly mourns and honors the lives of our brothers and sisters who might otherwise be forgotten, through the vigil we express love and respect for our people in the face of national indifference and hatred.

Her Color Shines

This event is to acknowledge and award young women of color (faculty, staff and student) at Indiana State for their exceptional leadership, academic performance and resilience. Each year different populations of women will also be recognized. This year we are adding and acknowledging the remarkable student, faculty and staff of Hispanic/Latin descent. Black and Hispanic/Latin faculty, staff and students will be able to let their light shine.

The event will begin with an actual red carpet walk between 5:30-6 p.m. The program will begin promptly at 6 p.m.

Lavender Graduation

The Office of Multicultural Services & Programs and the LGBTQ Student Resource Center in partnership with Spectrum are asking you to attend the Lavender Graduation Ceremonies. Each ceremony will be held in the Hulman Memorial Student Union, Dede II.

Classics Fest

Student research presentations in celebration of Classical Studies at ISU. Sponsored by the ISU Gamma Alpha chapter of Eta Sigma Phi, the national Classical Studies honor society. Supported by the the Student Government Association; the Department of Languages, Literatures, and Linguistics; the University College and the University Honors Program.

WZIS-FM 90.7 Toy Drive

Indiana State University student-ran radio station WZIS-FM 90.7 hosts its first annual toy drive benefitting local underprivileged youth! WZIS, with the support of area businesses, is collecting donations for Toys for Tots to bring holiday gifts to Vigo County families in need of assistance.

Event will offer attendees the chance to win prizes provided from local businesses, refreshments and music provided by WZIS during a live remote broadcast.

Take Back the Night

Please join for Indiana State University’s annual Take Back the Night march and rally Wednesday, Nov. 16. The event is a nationwide movement to end gendered violence (rape, sexual assault, stalking, sexual harassment, intimate partner violence, etc.).                              

5:30-6:15 p.m. - Take Back the Night Resource Fair and Art Show—Hulman Memorial Student Union, Dede II and III

6:15-6:45 p.m. - Take Back the Night Rally—Hulman Memorial Student Union, Dede I

6:45-7:15 p.m. - On campus march
