Ms. Lisa McDaniel

Executive Assistant to the Vice President for Student Affairs

Mrs. Lisa Wrightsman is a native of Terre Haute and brings more than sixteen years of experience on ISU’s campus to her role as executive assistant to the vice president for student affairs.  Lisa began with ISU in March 2003 working in the College of Education in the Academic Affairs. In 2005, she moved over to the Dean of Students office within the Division of Student Affairs as an administrative assistant. Prior to being announced as the executive assistant on April 12, 2016, Lisa was in the role of the dean’s assistant where she assisted the previous three student affairs executives.

As executive assistant, Lisa is responsible for managing and administrative support of the vice president for student affairs office, maintaining the student affairs database and records, the vice president’s correspondence, coordinating divisional logistics, managing divisional financial systems and supervising student workers and graduate assistants.

Prior to her employment at ISU, Lisa was a manager and sales supervisor for Sam’s Club (1990-1998) and co-owner and manager of the family business (1994-2005).  An active member of the ISU community, she has been a team leader for ISU’s United Way Campaign, has served on the President’s Medallion Committee, the Staff Scholarship Committee, the President’s Council on Diversity and the Public Relations Committee of the ISU Staff Council.

Lisa received her Associate of Arts Degree in 2019, and prior to that was enrolled at ISU in the Human Resource Development program. Lisa enjoys travelling, the outdoors, volunteering time with Hospice, the Special Olympics, and Animal Rescue Shelters.
