Lavender Graduation
Lavendar Graduation
The Office of Multicultural Services & Programs and the LGBTQ Student Resource Center in partnership with Spectrum are asking you to attend the Lavender Graduation Ceremonies. Each ceremony will be held in the Hulman Memorial Student Union.
Lavender Graduation is an annual celebration intended to bring the entire LGBTQ+ community together to celebrate the success of our students. ANY LGBTQ+ student AND ally can take part in Lavender Graduation. Students do not need to have been a member of Spectrum student organization to participate and be recognized.
History of Lavender Graduation
Lavender Graduation is an annual ceremony conducted on numerous campuses to honor lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and ally students and to acknowledge their achievements and contributions to the university. The Lavender Graduation Ceremony was created by Dr. Ronni Sanlo at the University of Michigan in 1995. The annual ceremony was created to recognize LGBTQ students and acknowledge their achievements and contributions to the university.
