Established in 1991 by Dr. Elrod along with alumni, friends and members of the faculty on the occasion of Dr. Elrod's retirement after 28 years of dedicated service to Indiana State University, his profession and the department of curriculum instruction and media technology. This award assists graduate students in attaining proficiency to deal with disciplinary problems at the secondary school level. Selection is based on the recommendations of a scholarship committee appointed by the chair of the department.
