Yogic Monk to speak

The Honors College and the Department of Multidisciplinary Studies invite you to a presentation from Dada Maheshvarananda in Pickerl Hall.

Maheshvarananda is a Yogic Monk, social activist, author, and founder of the PROUT Institute in Caracas, Venezuela. The mission of the PROUT Institute is "to empower all people to improve their quality of life within a more just society by fostering and promoting worker cooperatives, self-reliant communities, environmental protection, universal ethics, and spiritual values."

Community Semester: Opening event

A celebration of fifty years of scholarship is the opening event for Community Semester. From the Non-standard Negro English of 1968 to the African-American Language of 2018, this presentation outlines what African-American English is, what it isn't and summarizes some notable events in the first 50 years of research on African-American English.
