Statistics in the USA show there is 1 suicide every 12 minutes or 117 suicides each day. As of 2014, suicide was the 10th leading cause of death in the USA and the 3rd leading cause of death for youth. Teachers are often first to notice changes in student behavior. Join us in learning how to recognize warning signs of a suicide crisis and to respond by asking questions, persuading to stop and referring to someone or someplace for help.
