The online economics minor is an excellent way to increase employability and to supplement skills and abilities.
Coursework includes 18 credit hours of study that enhance critical analysis and thinking skills. The minor is well-suited for business majors and others preparing for careers in business and government or for graduate study in business, medicine, and law.
The online economics minor is open to all eligible ISU students (except economics majors) who wish to add a minor to their current program of study. Courses in the minor may satisfy some requirements in business majors offered by the Scott College of Business. Students should consult with their advisors before enrolling in courses to ensure suitability and plan their program of study.
All courses are offered online. On-campus visits are not required.
Note: The University also offers an online Economic Policy Minor, an online Economic Policy Certificate, and an online Economics B.S. Program.
Eligibility
The economics minor is open to all ISU majors (except economics). To complete the economics minor, students must have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.2 in all economics courses taken at ISU. In addition, students must fulfill the University's requirements for graduation with a bachelor degree, including successful completion of a major.
