<p><strong>M. Affan Badar, PhD</strong> has been employed with Indiana State University (ISU) since 2002 and currently he is a tenured professor in the Department of Applied Engineering &amp; Technology Management (AETM). He was interim associate dean - curriculum, accreditation and outreach for the College of Technology in 2014-15. He was chair of the AETM dept for 2010-2014 and Mechanical Engineering Technology (MET) program coordinator, 2007-10. He has been an ABET program evaluator since 2010. Dr. Badar is a recipient of the Epsilon Pi Tau 2015 Warner Professional Practice Award. He is serving on the operations management committee of Jahangirabad Inst of Technology (India). He is an editor of SAGE journal: Advances in Mechanical Engineering, associate editor of Amer J of Engr & Applied Sciences, and ediotrial board member of International J of Quality & Reliability Mgmt and NED Univ J or Research. He was Vice President of the ATMAE Manufacturing Division, 2012-16 and Director of the IISE Engineering Economy Division, 2005-07. At ISU, Dr. Badar teaches in the BS in MET and MS/PhD in Technology Management programs. He also taught as an associate faculty during 2006-2009 in ME and Logistics Systems Mgmt &amp; Engr at Purdue School of E&amp;T – IUPUI. Prior to joining ISU, he had taught at U of Oklahoma as a PhD candidate in IE and at KFUPM as a lecturer in ME, and had worked in US industry as a mechanical design engineer and manufacturing engineering intern.</p>

<p>Dr. Badar earned a PhD degree in Industrial Engineering (IE) from U of Oklahoma (USA) in 2002, MS in Mechanical Engineering (ME) from King Fahd U of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM, Saudi Arabia) in 1993, and MSc in IE in 1990 and BSc (Hons) in ME in 1988 from Aligarh Muslim U (India).</p>

<p>Dr. Badar has published over 50 articles in refereed journals and proceedings in the areas of coordinate metrology, lean manufacturing, design, reliability, quality, healthcare, and supply chain cost analysis. He has received funding from National Science Foundation, Small Business Administration, ISU (Lilly Foundation), NATO, Union Hospital, Columbia House, Tredegar Film Products, etc.</p>
