September 15 to October 15 is Hispanic Heritage Month, and you're invited to an unforgettable fiesta! Celebrate with us at our Hispanic Heritage Month Kick-Off on Wednesday, September 18 from 6-8pm in Dede I! We are excited to welcome Chibbi as our featured artist for the evening.

Chibbi is a spoken word performer, teaching artist, and host. His work primarily deals with the exploration of identity and culture, his experiences as both Queer and Latino, addiction and recovery, and fighting for the validity of existence. He has published 2 books. His work has appeared in print and online including in The Acentos Review, Latino Book Review Magazine, Write About Now, Button Poetry, George Takei, and We Are Mitu, to name a few. He is a 2-time San Antonio Poetry Slam Champion who took 3rd place at the 2017 National Poetry Slam Group Piece Competition.

Following his performance and presentation, the fiesta will continue with Latin American traditions including food, dance, games, and more.
