Student Events

This annual event pairs teams of women and men to ride together on a tandem bike. The fastest team takes home medals, bragging rights and points for their organization. This is the final event of ISU's Spring Week activities.

The goal of this first program is to educate and engage the audience in the history of disability and the disability rights movement. The program will consist of a presentation to explore the ways in which the foundations of our society are based upon ableist perceptions, values and systems and how these contributed to shaping the disability experience and continued fight for equality.

The Office of New Student Transition Programs will be hosting an event at Dede Plaza South. Painting in Hues of Blue will allow students to paint in various different shades of blue to create paintings that showcase some of their favorite memories while attending STATE. This event will allow students to paint and learn more information about becoming a Blue Team Leader for the upcoming school year.

The Day of Silence is a national movement to highlight the silencing of LBGTQ+ students in school, which demands that school leaders take action to “Be More Inclusive". Join Multicultural Services & Programs to break the silence.

Keep It Real RX is a game that provides a safe space for people to explore and share their memories, reflections, beliefs, dreams, feelings, fantasies, imaginations and secret desires out loud! Playing this bold, profound and interactive game will transport you beyond the realm of who you always imagined yourself to be, and will free you to become more of who you really are. Real questions you have always wanted to ask, but never dared to "Real questions you have always secretly wanted to discuss”.

American-born Roger Shimomura has often been made to feel foreign because of the color of his skin and his Japanese features. These experiences prompted Shimomura to examine stereotypes of Japanese Americans by creating a parody of Japanese art using the pictorial strategies of American Pop art. 

The College of Graduate and Professional Studies (CGPS) and the Faculty Center for Teaching Excellence (FCTE) would like to invite graduate teaching assistants to attend either or both of two events in this spring - Teaching Tools for Teaching Assistants series.

Sycamore Service Saturday for the month of March is accepting signups from students, faculty and staff who want to volunteer in the community. You may pick the location you want to volunteer at and projects for the day.
