University Speaker Series: Alexandra Cousteau

A National Geographic "emerging explorer," filmmaker, and globally recognized advocate on water issues, Alexandra Cousteau continues the work of her renowned grandfather Jacques-Yves Cousteau and her father Philippe Cousteau Sr. She has mastered the remarkable storytelling tradition handed down to her and has the unique ability to inspire audiences on the weighty issues of policy, politics, and action.

University Speaker Series: Hector Tobar

Héctor Tobar is a Los Angeles born author and journalist. His fourth book will be published by Farrar, Straus and Giroux this fall: Deep Down Dark: The Untold Stories of 33 Men Buried in a Chilean Mine, and the Miracle That Freed Them. His novel The Barbarian Nurseries, was published by FSG and named a New York Times Notable Book. The Barbarian Nurseries, and has been translated into French, German and other languages.

411 on the Five-O

This is an event where students will learn about their rights when interacting with police officers.

411 on the Five-O is an annual NAACP event that offers students the chance to have conversations with members of law enforcement in a safe environment.

Guests from the ISU police department and Indiana State troopers will be in attendance to answer questions.

Refreshments will also be provided.

Chi Omega Color War

This is Chi Omega's new fall philanthropy event for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. ANYONE can participate: students, children, parents, and community members are all welcome.

Teams can participate in an obstacle course that includes huge inflatables, balance, speed and agility with a splash of color!

Coffee with the Community

The Center for Community Engagement is hosting Coffee with Community in October focusing on Juvenile Justice outreach.

Representatives from Gibault, McLean Alternative School, Juvenile Justice Center and other community agencies who assist and serve juveniles will represent the panel.

Panelist will share ways faculty, staff and students can support any outreach programs and provide insight for the audience about specific topics regarding juvenile justice concerns.

Bake Sale for St. Jude

Please join Epsilon Sigma Alpha, a co-ed service fraternity, raise money for St. Jude by visiting their bake sale. Goodies will range from brownies and cookies, to rice krispy treats and SO MUCH MORE! All money raised will go to benefit the work at St. Jude Children's Hospital; where no family ever pays for treatment.
