Héctor Tobar is a Los Angeles born author and journalist. His fourth book will be published by Farrar, Straus and Giroux this fall: Deep Down Dark: The Untold Stories of 33 Men Buried in a Chilean Mine, and the Miracle That Freed Them. His novel The Barbarian Nurseries, was published by FSG and named a New York Times Notable Book. The Barbarian Nurseries, and has been translated into French, German and other languages.
Union Board's annual fundraiser to benefit Catholic Charities of Terre Haute's goal is to raise 20,000 pounds of food for Terre Haute families.
Food and cash donations are accepted.

411 on the Five-O is an annual NAACP event that offers students the chance to have conversations with members of law enforcement in a safe environment.
Guests from the ISU police department and Indiana State troopers will be in attendance to answer questions.
Refreshments will also be provided.
This is Chi Omega's new fall philanthropy event for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. ANYONE can participate: students, children, parents, and community members are all welcome.

Representatives from Gibault, McLean Alternative School, Juvenile Justice Center and other community agencies who assist and serve juveniles will represent the panel.
Panelist will share ways faculty, staff and students can support any outreach programs and provide insight for the audience about specific topics regarding juvenile justice concerns.

All money raised will go to benefit the work at St. Jude Children's Hospital; where no family ever pays for treatment.
