Hancock County resident takes bigger rank in ISP
PENDLETON — A Hancock County resident has been promoted to oversee all law enforcement operations at the Putnamville, Indianapolis and Pendleton districts of the Indiana State Police.
Tony Delello is the new Pendleton District Commander and has been promoted to the rank of captain.
Indiana State Police Superintendent Doug Carter made the announced this week.
Delello is a Hamilton County native but now resides in Hancock County. He graduated from Carmel High School in 1989 before going on to Indiana State University in 1994 with a bachelor degree in criminal justice. He began his career with the Indiana State Police in 1995, graduating from the academy in December of that year. He was first assigned to the Lowell District, then transferred to the Pendleton District in 1997 where he was assigned to Hancock County as a road trooper, according to a press release.
Delello was promoted to lieutenant in May of 2017 and served as the Pendleton District Commander until his recent promotion to captain.
