Case Managers promoted at Putnamville Correctional Facility

Greencastle, Ind. — Putnamville Correctional Facility would like to congratulate two new Casework Managers; Ashley Pell and David Kemp. They will begin their new positions October 18, 2020.

Casework Manager Ashley Pell began her Indiana Department of Corrections (IDOC) career in September of 2015 as a Correctional Officer. Pell then promoted to Caseworker in May of 2017 and now onto Casework Manager. She served as a member of S.I.T.C.O.N. (Hostage and Crisis Negotiations) for one year, trained as an Indiana Risk Assessment System Instructor, Assistant Public Information Officer, Instructor for Thinking For a Change and has a Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana State University in Criminology.

Casework Manager David Kemp began his IDOC career in January of 2016 as a Correctional Officer. Kemp promoted to Caseworker in August of 2018. As a Caseworker Kemp oversaw the Intake dorm, worked with the Prison Greyhound Program, and is an Instructor for the program “Thinking For a Change”. Kemp obtained a Bachelor of Science in Law Enforcement from Indiana State University.

Deputy Warden Timmy Phegley stated, “Both Ashley and David have shown true signs of commitment to the department. Seeing their growth and drive has been inspirational.”
