Family ties to ISU: Father received Masters in Music Education, Brother received Bachelors in Music Education, Sister started her graduate studies here.

I chose to attend ISU because… it feels like a home away from home. My professors are always there for me and the other students. They will always help when I have questions or needs of any kind. I have gained a second family here at ISU. I wouldn’t have chosen any other school to attend.

When I have free time, I like… to paint canvases and play piano to relieve stress.

My favorite place on campus to study is… Normal Hall. It is absolutely stunning.

My favorite professor is… I love all of my music professors here on campus so very much. It is very tough for me to choose my absolute favorite.

If I could share an afternoon with anyone, I would love to share it with… Audrey Hepburn, if she were still living.

If I knew I could not fail, I would… perform and teach all around the world. I would try and visit as many countries as I could.

After graduation, I plan to… maybe perform, but definitely teach!

The one ISU experience I will always remember is… my very first Choral Concert under the direction of Dr. Scott Buchanan. I had always watched my brother participate in these wonderful ensembles, and I always thrived to be up there on that same stage. It was absolutely the coolest feeling in the world to be singing in a collegiate ensemble, finally.

If I knew then what I know now, I would… keep my head up at all times, and never ever get discouraged. I would never let anyone bring me down.

If I could serve as a mentor for future ISU music students, I would tell them/suggest that they… need to be prepared for anything to happen. Time is of the essence so do not waste it. Also, do not ever forget why you are here, and why you chose to be here, but make sure and call your family every once in a while. They miss you, I promise. At times, you may feel like you are burned out, but keep going. Do not let anyone stop you from doing what you want to do in life. Cherish every moment and opportunity you get here at ISU. Never quit making beautiful music.
