Service Learning and Community Engagement: Meaning giving of your time and talents

This session will provide an overview of service-learning, community and civic engagement and community service/volunteering at ISU in particular. Definitions will be covered as well as the ways that service-learning, community engagement and volunteering are simultaneously the same and different.

Service and engagement opportunities for ISU students and scholars based on academic, professional and personal interests will be discussed. Benefits and challenges will also be addressed. This will be an interactive session to include a question and answer period.

Cinco de Mayo

Cinco de Mayo is a holiday that celebrates the date of the Mexican army's 1862 victory over France at the Battle of Puebla during the Franco-Mexican War (1861-1867). A relatively minor holiday in Mexico, in the United States Cinco de Mayo has evolved into a commemoration of Mexican culture and heritage, particularly in areas with large Mexican-American populations.

Latin Date Night Auction Scholarship Fund

La Casita Student Resource Center and the Office of Multicultural Services and Programs will be hosting our Latin Date Night Auction to raise money for book scholarships for Hispanic/Latin students at Indiana State University. This will be a fun evening for a great cause!

Even if you aren't single, this event is guaranteed to be a fun night! We'll also have Latin dancing following the auction!

Hispanic Graduation Ceremony

The Office of Multicultural Services & Programs in partnership with La Casita Student Resource Center are requesting your presence at the Spring 2017 Hispanic/Latino Graduation Ceremony. This is a celebration intended to highlight the accomplishments of Hispanic/Latino students at Indiana State University.

La Casita Student Resource Center and the Office of Multicultural Services and Programs will be hosting our Latin Date Night Auction and Taste of Mexico to raise money for book scholarships for Hispanic/Latin students at Indiana State University. This will be a fun evening for a great cause!
