Manufacturing Systems (18 Credits)
Using technology for the production of goods and services is a fundamental part of the human endeavor. Manufacturing, which is vital to the economic health of the nation, is one of the primary areas of study in technology. The competitive aspects of the global economy are also forcing rapid changes in manufacturing. To meet these challenges, manufacturers need capable and talented individuals in leadership positions in technical programs within universities as well as in businesses.
MANUFACTURING SYSTEMS SPECIALIZATION
A Manufacturing System can be defined as the means to operate and control processes that add value to a product. Another key characteristic of a manufacturing system is its ability to replicate the product profitably. While traditional manufacturing programs have focused on manufacturing technologies, manufacturing systems concentrates on all the activities and practices used to integrate an enterprise's production.
