WELCOME!
Welcome to the online home of the Sycamore Bands of Indiana State University!
Each and every one of our ensembles is open to ALL students on campus, regardless of major. While some groups (Wind Orchestra, Jazz Ensemble, Marching Sycamores Drumline, Sycamore Color Guard) require an audition, others are open to all (Marching Sycamores woodwinds and brass, Sycamore Basketball Band woodwinds and brass, Concert Band).
It is our goal to be as inclusive as possible. If you miss playing your instrument (or spinning a flag/rifle/baton), we can find an ensemble that will fit your ability level and motivation. You do not have to be a music major in order to participate. In the past, our ensembles have been represented by majors from all across campus, including (to mention only a few) Athletic Training, Biology, Business, Chemistry, Communications, English, History, Marketing, Mathematics, Philosophy, Political Science, Pre-Law, Pre-Med, Psychology, Special Education, and many, many more!

LEADERSHIP WITH DR. TIM LAUTZENHEISER
Leadership with Dr. Tim Lautzenheiser provides an opportunity for young high school musicans and music educators to explore concepts of leadership in a friendly, non-competitive atmosphere. Guests will spend part of the day on the beautiful Indiana State University campus and work with guests, Dr. Tim Lautzenheiser, Executive Director of Attitude Concepts, Inc., and Mr. Randy Greenwell, retired Director of Bands at Lawrence Central High School. Information regarding the 2024 All-Star Honor Band will be posted during the fall semester.
DUDINE SCHOLARSHIPS
The Don Dudine Scholarship is a $1000 scholarship available to non-music majors who participate in the Marching Sycamores.

Those interested in auditioning for the color guard should fill out this form to receive information about auditions, which are due by 1 August.
