The Big Bang for the Affordable Care Act

The Affordable Care Act is almost upon us. In March 2010, President Obama signed comprehensive health reform, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA), into law. The law is supposed to make health care more accessible and affordable for most Americans. While some provisions of the law have already taken effect, many more provisions will be implemented in the coming years. ACA Enrollment begins October 1, 2013 for coverage beginning January 1, 2014.

Nrithya Shastra: Bharatha Natyam Demonstration and Performance

Saroja Vaidyanathan an exponent of Bharatanatyam will present “Nrithya Shastra: The Science of Dance” on Wednesday, Oct. 2 in Hulman Memorial Student Union, Dede II. Vaidyanathan will demonstrate expressions and movements of Bharatanayam, an ancient dance form that originated in southern India more than 2,000 years ago. Vaidyanathan’s presentation will be at 5:30 p.m., and will be followed by a reception. Vaidyanathan has received multiple accolades for her work.

Reception for Department of Art and Design Faculty Exhibition

Meet the artist behind the University Art Gallery’s current exhibit of faculty work. This diverse exhibition includes paintings, prints, photographs, drawings, graphic design, video, and ceramics by faculty members SAMy Anderson, Chester Burton, Soulaf Abas, Kira Enriquez, Fran Lattanzio, Nancy Nichols-Pethick, Brad Venable, Wanda Wilkey , Jason Krueger, Sharon Cordray, and Sala Wong. All events are free and open to the public.

Sigma Kappa's Pancake Dinner "Sigma Stacks"

Sigma Kappa is having a Pancake dinner on Oct 10 from 6-9pm.  For a small price of $5 you will receive All you can eat Pancakes, and have a chance to win door prizes!  All of the proceeds will be donated to the Maine Sea Coast Mission, one of our philanthropies.
