Jessie N. House Memorial Scholarship
The Jessie N. House Memorial Scholarship was established in 1990 by the children of Mrs. House as well as by family friends. A native of Terre Haute, Indiana, the former Jessie Mae Needham, and 1929 Indiana State University alumnus, married Wilson M. House, a poineer in the trucking industry. Mr. House chartered the beginning of Eastern Express, Inc., a company recognized as one of the nation's largest motor carriers. The Houses have a strong and rich history in the Terre Haute and Indiana State University communities. The recipient of the award must be a candidate for a graduate degree who has demonstrated academic achievement and who has graduated from a high school located in Indiana or a surrounding state. Final selection shall be made by a faculty committee appointed by the Dean.
