Old National Bank Scholarships

February 19, 2001

ISU students will soon be vying for the newly endowed Old National Scholarship which is being offered through the ISU Foundation. The scholarship is the result of a $50,000 endowment designed to target ISU business students who will benefit from an education subsidy and a hands-on internship within the Old National system.

“This scholarship is one example of Old National’s commitment to education and the students living in the markets we serve,” said Bill Britt, chair, president and CEO of Old National Bank. “Old National believes that supporting education means providing financial opportunities for students to pursue their career goals and work-based learning programs to enhance their learning process

Four annual scholarships of $500 each will be awarded to selected undergraduate students who are interested in a career in financial services. The recipients will be selected on the basis of academic record, scholastic aptitude test scores, potential to succeed, leadership and participation in school; and community activities, honors, work experience, a statement of educational and career goals, and an outside appraisal. An applicant must be a U.S. citizen, reside in an Old National market area, provide evidence of community service, be enrolled, or planning to enroll as a full-time undergraduate student in the School of Business at Indiana State University.

The participants will be selected based on the recommendations of a scholarship committee appointed by the Dean in the ISU School of Business, following a review of each application. Recipients may seek to renew the scholarship for a maximum of eight consecutive semesters providing academic achievement is maintained (3.0 GPA) and declared major remains in the School of Business.
