PKA Fukumitsu Scholarship in Insurance

Criteria

  • Recipients must plan a career in insurance, as evidenced by study in one of the insurance programs of the ISU College of Business
  • Maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.0
  • Emulate the principles on which the fraternity was founded.

Donor Profile

The Fukumitsu Scholarship in Insurance results from an endowment created by Steven Y. Fukumitsu, an alumnus of the Theta Omicron chapter of Pi Kappa Alpha.

Steven Y. Fukumitsu went on to become the Vice President of lnsurance at the Hawaii General Insurance Agency and President at Insurance Hawaii, Inc.

Pi Kappa Alpha, commonly known as PIKE, is a college fraternity founded at the University of Virginia in 1868. The fraternity's vision statement is "To set the standard of integrity, intellect, achievement for our members, host institutions, and the communities in which we live."

The Theta Omicron chapter was founded at Indiana State in the fall of 1978.
